Ever wondered what actually goes into one of our portable rooms before it lands in your home? It's more than panels and plugs! Every room is built by our team of experts, with local trades and high-quality materials, so it's ready to work hard for years (and backyards) to come.
Quality that's built to last
We know our portable rooms might have lots of homes over their lives, cover many miles on the road and be in very different environments, so they’re built to withstand whatever life throws at them. Each room is built from Bondor's insulated EPS panel system, with Shadowclad from In2Ply which gives them their signature look. Inside, we fit out with top-quality brands we trust to keep performing move after move: think Mitsubishi air con, Havit Lighting, Therman hot water and Saniflo pumps.
We like to keep things local, New Gisborne Electrical do all our sparky and AC work and Nettlebeck Plumbing for gas fit offs and plumbing. All our materials are also locally sourced, from Vulcan Aluminium, Western Distributors, Melsteel and Trend Windows. We pride ourselves on generating minimal waste during the build; offcuts get reused, given away or recycled wherever possible.
A crew that cares
Six years in, we've got a tight team of full-time local builders (including Ed, who literally lives next door!). Steve leads the team, and everyone knows every job in the build, so the work stays interesting and the days stay social. With regular team meetings and discussions about how best to approach a job, we always stay nimble and consistently look to improve our workflow.
We've come a long way from building in the rain and eating lunch off an upturned bucket; our yard is now fully covered, with its own lunchroom and lock up storage. We’re proud of the journey we’ve been on and the relationships we’ve spent years developing, especially with the local Sunbury Bunnings Trade team who have had our back since day one.
